About ~ Bio
Paul W. Sharpe, aka the 'Wizard of Wonders', is a contemporary abstract visual artist. His art is mostly archival pigments on canvas with a super gloss varnish finish. His signature work consists of bright, bold colours, making it a visual adventure about deep thinking dimensions which take viewers into another world, another dimension of our brain, by employing chaotic geometrical elements. Aesthetic and composition are newly defined in Paul's artwork so that the viewer may be challenged with the classical understanding of art. Paul's work is an intellectually artistic mastery of color, perspective, technique and vision. The viewer's mind is held captive in Paul's art through the use of intensive colours and chaotic space. Paul's work at times also explores the interaction of human bodies and space. Viewing Paul's work is a meditative experience, providing insight into the visual concepts of colour, line, and flow.
Paul also loves photography. He is passionate about capturing wildlife and landscapes, about leaving the city, and finding the inspiration that drives his artistic vision back in the studio. Paul has been awarded numerous times for his photographic art by different national competitions, and is acknowledged in major international photography associations. His images have been featured internationally on book covers, directories, and even candy wrappers.
Paul's art has been exhibited in numerous galleries, and Paul has participated in both group and solo shows within Canada. He previously resided in the United Kingdom where he received an O level Degree in art, the Philippines, and is currently residing in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he has his studio art gallery.
